Recruitment Scam Warning
Introduction
Thank you for your interest in joining Industry Media Group. While we are excited for you to explore opportunities with us, we also want to ensure your job search is safe and secure. Unfortunately, scammers sometimes pose as recruiters or representatives from reputable companies to deceive job seekers. These bad actors may create fake job postings, send fraudulent offer letters, or attempt to extract personal information or payments under false pretenses. To protect yourself, please read the important guidance below:
Beware of Unfamiliar Communications
Do not engage with unsolicited emails, calls, or messages—especially those from unofficial or suspicious domains (e.g., "industrymediagroup.jobs@gmail.com" or "@careers-industrymedia.com"). Authentic communications from Industry Media Group will only come from our official domain: @industrymediagroup.ca.
We Do Not Request Payment
Industry Media Group will never ask you to pay for training, equipment, background checks, or any part of the recruitment process. We do not issue checks or request banking details before a formal offer is signed through legitimate channels.
We Do Not Hire/Recruit Without Interviews
All legitimate offers from Industry Media Group follow one or more interviews-either in-person or via secure video conferencing. Be cautious of job offers made without any interview or proper vetting.
Watch For Red Flags
Be alert if:
- The job description is unusually vague or "too good to be true."
- The communication contains poor grammar, spelling errors, or unusual urgency.
- You are asked to act quickly or "confidentially."
- The so-called recruiter is unwilling to answer questions or provide company contact information.
How To Verify Job Postings
All legitimate offers from Industry Media Group follow one or more interviews-either in-person or via secure video conferencing. Be cautious of job offers made without any interview or proper vetting.
